What Are Major Types Of Surveillances Conducted By Investigators?

Before moving on to types of surveillances conducted by private detectives, let's have a look at what is surveillance. It is an art of keeping an eye on someone, something or someplace to identify a person, activities or to get other details.

Types of Surveillances

Based on different crimes and type of evidences required, the detectives conduct different types of surveillances. For instance an employment detective in Delhi will opt for human surveillance, while undercover agent might go for CCTV surveillance. Find below major types of surveillances conducted by detectives:

Mechanical Surveillance

As the name suggests in mechanical surveillance, various technological tools and devices are used. These are used in long investigations, as these don’t get tired or get bored. Same equipments can be installed at multiple locations, which is impossible in human surveillance, as one person can be present only at one place. These devices are used to record activities of suspects and provide these as evidence during court cases.

Human Surveillance

When investigation team itself keeps an eye on the suspect, it is called human surveillance. It includes tailing the targets and observing their activities. Surveillance investigators in Delhi usually opt for this type of investigation to locate missing child.

Open Surveillance

It is open security, where people are aware about the surveillance. Security agents and Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras are perfect examples of overt surveillance. It gives warning to people that someone is keeping an eye on them and prevents them from doing any wrongful act.

Hidden Surveillance

You must have got an idea from the name that it is hidden surveillance. This is one of the major tools used by undercover investigators in Delhi. It includes both personal trailing and use of advanced devices like GPC tracking device on vehicles without letting the drivers know about it.

Mobile Surveillance

Mobile surveillance includes following a moving target. At times the investigators also have to go out of station to chase the target. You might also have to use your vehicle to tail the suspect, if he/she drives away.
